My love of working with athletes on the mental side of their sport stems from not having the opportunity to work on my own when I was a competitive athlete. I had no idea it was even something I could train, and I would’ve benefited from it greatly! I remember being at swim meets and thinking, “They’re much bigger than me” or “I’m not good enough.” You can imagine that these thoughts weren’t very helpful when it came to racing! My goals always revolved around outcomes such as scoring or winning, rather than on the process and what I could control.

Once I learned about sport psychology during my undergraduate degree, I knew I wanted to work in this field and help athletes to reach their potential and possibly more importantly, enjoy their sport and acquire skills for life outside of sport! Once I completed my undergraduate in Sports Studies (Exercise & Health), I attended The University of Stirling for my Masters in Psychology of Sport. Since graduating in 2014, I’ve been helping athletes of various sports, ages, and levels gain the competitive edge by training their brain.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide athletes in building psychological flexibility—the ability to stay focused, present, and resilient under pressure.
In the world of sports, challenges like self-doubt, fear of failure, and performance anxiety can hold athletes back from reaching their true potential. My approach is not about eliminating these thoughts and emotions but learning how to manage them effectively. Through ACT, I help my clients develop strategies to accept difficult emotions, commit to their values, and take meaningful action toward their goals, even in the face of adversity.
Whether you’re an elite competitor or a developing athlete, my goal is to equip you with the mental tools to perform with confidence, stay adaptable in high-pressure situations, and find fulfillment in your sport. By cultivating psychological flexibility, you’ll not only improve your performance but also build a mindset that supports long-term success and well-being—on and off the field.
Are you ready to train your mind like you train your body? Let’s work together to unlock your full potential.
